Let The TechGuys...
...help keep your data secure
With the recent spell of bad weather, you might be spending more time at home than you anticipated this half term. But there’s no reason why you can’t make the most of that time by taking the opportunity to back up your important files and memorable pictures to a secure online vault.
Keep your data secure
If your kids have access to your PC then those inquisitive little fingers could be doing a lot more than just playing minesweeper and typing up their homework. The TechGuys can help keep your precious files and memories safe with our Online Data Backup service.
For just £29.99 a year, you’ll get 50GB of secure storage to keep your files safe. That works out at just 58p per week for total peace of mind. And, to give you some idea how big 50GB is, you could backup around 12,800 songs from your personal music library!
If you are away from home or travel a lot then your files are always available from any PC connected to the Internet, so you can conveniently access your files from anywhere in the world!
Once you’ve signed up and bought the Online Data Backup service, you’ll need to download and install the special backup software. This will then handle your backup automatically, so you don’t need to worry about doing it yourself.
Put your Flatscreen TV out of reach
Now that it’s half term and the kids are probably running amok indoors, it may be beneficial to get your Flatscreen TV wall mounted, so that it’s out of the way and also frees up a bit more space in the room too.
If this sounds like a great opportunity to protect one of your expensive assets then all you need to do is buy a wall bracket of your choice, find a wall where you would like it fixing and give us a call. We’ll securely attach the bracket and TV, and make sure that all the cables are kept neat & tidy and tucked out the way.
When the kids are quiet, do you know what they’re doing?
During the holidays it can be quite tricky to keep an eye on what your children are doing. With the parental controls in Windows Vista, we can tell you how to limit and monitor their online activity, so that you’ll know what they’re up to and be able to restrict where they go.
If you bought your PC from PC World, then you can pop into your local store to take advantage of this great service, weather permitting!
Shut down your Windows Vista PC in 2 mouse clicks!
Shutting down your Windows Vista PC can be done even easier by altering the function of the default power button that you will notice on the Start Menu. To do this, follow the steps below.
- Click Start > Control Panel > System and maintenance > Power Options.
- Now find the plan that you currently use and click the line underneath it called Change plan settings.
- Now click on Change advanced power settings.
- From the list, go down to Power button and lid and click the plus sign to the left of it to expand it.
- Next click on the plus sign to the left of Start menu power button.
- You will now see the current setting, which is sleep. To change this, click on the word Sleep and change it to Shut down.
- Now click on Apply and then OK.
Whenever you click Start and the Power button on the Start Menu from now on, your computer will turn off, rather than just going to sleep.
