Mobile Devices

People and businesses are a lot more mobile and the requirement to access files and connect to the Internet on the move has never been so prevalent.

Whilst at home or work it’s extremely easy to access all your data, but on the move it’s a little bit different. Laptops are the first choice for many people as it’s basically a smaller version of the PC that they are used to but there are other options available.

SMARTPHONES
Apart from the obvious, calling people, you can now do so much more with a Smartphone. They have touch screens, Bluetooth, WiFi and the ability to send email, browse the net and host video calls, not to mention the, almost standard, built-in camera. Even still, you are just
scratching the surface on how flexible this phone really is. Do you want to play music? Phones can do that. Want to create documents for work? Phones can do that too. They basically have the functionality of about five different devices. Having a Smartphone is like having a miniature
computer right at your fingertips. If you have a modern phone that supports PDA like functions then you can also synchronise it with Microsoft Outlook. This functionality allows the contacts and calendar entries on your phone and PC to be updated.

PDAs
PDAs have been around now for quite some time and more and more people are aware of their usefulness in their day to day lives. Not only can you use your PDA for business, you can also use it for listening to music on the train and in the car with GPS software to navigate. There are hundreds of types of PDA sporting many features and gadgets, but when it comes down to it, they all mainly use one of two operating systems, Windows Mobile or Palm OS. Although the operating systems give you a slightly different experience, they both offer similar functions.
